Wow, delicious! I had to use the ingredients I had on hand, but it still came out really really well. I used 2 cans of tomato sauce instead of tomato paste, green lentils, and no tumeric since I didn't have any. I think that this recipe is such an amazing base that it can handle LOTS of tweaking!

Wonderful recipe. I left out some of the curry powder and added in some garam masala. I used more curry paste, too, and diced tomatoes rather than tomato paste. A small bit of sweet butter at the end was the perfect finishing touch. I was really proud of this when I served it for dinner, it tasted very authentic.

Very good. I used a mild curry paste, I think next time, I'll use hot. The only trouble I had was cooking the lentils to the right consistency. I ended up throwing out the first batch as they had cooked too long and were complete mush. I got it right the second time. However, the dish was still a bit too thick. Next time, I'll add some vegetable stock to the onion/spice mixture before adding the lentils right at the end.

My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe! The only change I made was that I substituted the ginger with galangal. The only change I will make next time is to half the recipe, since its just the two of us, and this makes a lot of curry! We had this with raita, chapati bread and curried cauliflower; it was a great meal!

This is great! I just finished making it about 5 minutes ago and it is flavorful and spicy. I will definitely make this again and use the curry recipe for vegetables as well.

Easy and delicious! My only change was to use half of a large can of stewed tomatoes instead of puree (I used the other half for matar paneer) and served this as a side dish, so I have plenty left over to freeze!

I made modifications as recommended by a friend. I substituted the tomato for coconut milk and added about half a cup of peanut butter. Then served it all over brown rice. Yummy!

This was good. I used red curry paste and yellow powdered curry. Next time I will omit the sugar as it was a tad sweet from the tomato.

Very, very tasty dish. Followed recipe exactly except for green lentils instead of red (had them).

This is an easy and delicious recipe. The recipe is enough to feed 6-8 people. I usually take half and freeze for later.

I found this to be very bitter- so I added a pinch of baking soda, to wipe that out, and then some coconut cream for a bit of richness. I liked it much better after that. Thanks for the great recipe! I will enjoy making this again!

I followed the recipe exactly and used mild curry paste, and still it was a bit spicy because of the chili powder, but perfect flavor. Not too spicy for kids. My kids actually looved it! I halved the recipe, and still it was a lot, so I'm glad I did! Served with basmati rice and simple salad. Great flavors, but I felt like it lacked a bit of texture. Next time, I will add some chicken pieces into it, cuz while eating it, I kept feeling that chicken would have been perfect in it! Great base though, thanks a lot for sharing!

Very tasty. This recipe will vary in taste and heat according to your curry paste. Notes about lentils: I have never cooked lentils before so I thought I would share some tips for others like me. First off, they are very small so don't try to use a strainer with larger holes (Yes, I know this is obvious). Rinse them well until the water runs clear. Wet lentils stick to everything! Try to get them in the right pot the first time. I found a spatula was good for transferring them. Red lentils cook fast! I boiled mine for 2 mins then simmered for about 8 mins. At that point they were mostly tender. I transferred them into the sauce, mixed well and let them finish cooking. They didn't get too mushy like many people have mentioned.

I thought that this was a delicious recipe. 2 cups of red lentils was a bit much, but very very easy and very very good.

This was okay. I don't think I'll make it again. Choosing the right curry paste would probably really help this recipe.
