About me:
I prefer to bake then to cook. Give me a dessert and I can make it. My family usually likes what I make, but once in a while I find something new and nobody likes it.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed on Dec. 29, 2008 by cheesemite
I made several batches of this recipe for the holidays. A little extra flour helped the cookies hold their shape baking, but the dough was easy to roll and had great flavor. I thought it might be fun to have a little heat, so I added 1/8 teaspoon cayenne to the recipe. The cookies were perfect for the first few days, but became hotter as time passed. The cayenne was a good idea, but I'd go easier next time.

Perfect Pear Brandy Sidecar

Truly perfect for a Thanksgiving day cocktail. I'd found Asian Pear Cider at the farmer's market and used it for the pear nectar.

Nonnie's Persimmon Pudding

Reviewed on Nov. 28, 2008 by cheesemite
This pudding is dense and sweet, and the persimmons provide more of a light floral perfume than a distinct flavor. We really enjoyed it. This was the first taste of persimmons for most of us.
